FINAL WILL CONSIST OF CONTENT FROM THIS UNIT
Study Guide for Final (June 6th and June 7th)
1. Documentary "Before the Flood" Be able to discuss the overall purpose of the documentary and how it relates to the economy and international relations among nations. What was Leo Decaprio's role in this documentary? What solutions were expressed in this documentary? How was diplomacy demonstrated in this documentary?
2. What is the Paris Climate Agreement? What is the United States current stance on this agreement?
3. What is the purpose and goals of the United Nations? Who is the USA UN Representative?
4. NAFTA - what is it? Purpose and goals. Pros and Cons. United States current stance on NAFTA.
5. Know the difference between the UN, WTO, and NAFTA - the ideology.
6. Tools of foreign policy (in notes): defense, aggression, deterrence, alliances (economic, political, military). Know examples of these - agreements and organizations discussed in class. Diplomacy, summit meetings, foreign aid, sanctions. The North Korea situation has been used as an example throughout this unit - be familiar with the current event of a possible summit meeting, purpose of the meeting, and be prepared to describe possible outcomes.

8. Two goals in regulating international trade.
9. WTO - purpose, goals, and what the organization can do.

Download current event sheet and make sure the article you reference is within the last two weeks AND from a credible source. (Check resource page to find credible sites) Be prepared to share in class how the situation you read about relates to the economy. From your research, a vocabulary list will be created. Due tomorrow at beginning of class

3. To understand how foreign policy works, student will create a Google Doc entitled Presidential Foreign Policy. Students will compare the most recent presidential foreign policies of the Trump administration, Obama Administration, and the George W. Bush Administration. Answer the questions below for each administration. Cite your sources.
a. For each administration, find it's foreign policy diplomats, the Secretary of State and the UN Representative.
b. For each administration find an example where diplomacy was used. Explain the situation and the result.
c. For each administration describe an example of sanctions imposed on another nation.
d. For each administration describe what is to be considered it's greatest foreign policy achievement.
