Ancient Civilization End of Year Project
Homework: May 20-25
Each night, students are to work on their tri-fold board and project by doing one of the following:
1. Typing/printing all information required to put on the board. (No spelling or grammar errors!)
2. Printing/drawing a map of civilization
3. Creating labels (can be stencils, stickers, printed, or drawn neatly.
4. Creating/collecting items for booth display (items to be sold, tablecloth, creating your costume to represent civilization)
5. Decorating the tri-fold board.
May 14-18
Monday - Research for project - religion
Tuesday - Research government and social structure
Wednesday - bring in at least two items to be placed on your poster. (print outs, maps, sticker letters)
Thursday - Organize all of your research. Be prepared to show Mrs. Daley tomorrow.
UNIT 6: Ancient Celts
Assignment:
1. Create a google doc, choose your topic below.
2. Create an outline.
Topic A: Explain how the Celts are similar to other ancient civilizations. Have at least 3 examples.
Topic B: Explain how the Celts are very different from other ancient civilizations. Have at least 3 examples.
Be as detailed as possible.
Share doc. when complete.
Monday - complete outline
Tuesday - finish rough draft
Wednesday - finish final essay - due tomorrow!
Thursday - Purchase and bring to school a tri-fold poster board.

Monday - Study for quiz. Kahoot - log on and search Ancient India, Karen Daley for the quiz.
Wednesday - Read the assigned Celtic/Nordic myth. Write a brief summary in your comp. book AND be prepared to share what you learned.
1. What was the myth about?
2. If you had a mythical creature - describe the creature, is the creature good, bad, mischievous ?
3. Does your myth relate to any other ancient civilizations, in religious beliefs?
4. Does your myth have any influence on today's culture in Europe or the world?
Last week:
Monday - No homework UNLESS you did not finish My Hometown Project. Send to Mrs. D when complete.
Tuesday - On Quizlet - create a study term deck for the study guide. Tonight complete terms/concepts 1-9

4. Give a brief summary of the story you read.
5. What are the lessons learned from the story?
